On Episode 2 we have Hunter Robbins, recent graduate from Florida Atlantic University discuss his incredible journey from being top 20 in the state of Florida in the 12’s, to burning out, being #287 on the recruiting list, quitting tennis for 3 months during his freshman year of college, and ultimately walking on to the FAU team and being a consistent starter his last two years.
Some highlights of the interview:
Started playing tennis so young he couldn’t even remember when he started.
Played multiple sports growing up, including soccer until 12 and baseball until 15 years old.
Struggled with the travel portion of tennis.
Ultimately had to work with a mental strength coach to work through it.
Burnt out during his teenage years.
Didn’t know his UTR until he got to college.
Gave up on college tennis and went to FAU to be a regular student, until a conversation with a girl at a bar changed everything.
