How to Fix Your Tennis Elbow FOREVER

Let’s just get straight to it. It’s not your strings. It’s not your string tension. And it’s not your racket.

It’s your technique.

All those tennis elbow gadgets they sell in pro shops or tennis websites or commercials are not your answer. They’re selling you a short term solution. They can all provide some relief, but they’ll never permanently fix the problem.

Every player I’ve watched wearing one of those gadgets has bad technique in some part of their game. Usually it’s the serve or forehand. It can be other shots as well, but those are the two most common ones that cause tennis elbow.

The players who never get tennis elbow or the least amount of injuries are the ones who hit and move to the ball properly.

Think about your local tennis pro. How is it possible for them to teach 8-10 hours a day for decades and never get tennis elbow? Or how is it possible for professionals who play for hours on end, and hit the ball harder than anyone, to never get tennis elbow?

It’s because of great technique.

Proper technique makes the game easier on your body. Bad technique causes more effort and pain. Not at first, but eventually.

Most doctors can’t permanently fix the problem either. They’ll tell you to stop doing the activity that’s causing the pain. When the pain goes away you can start playing again. And at first, there will be no pain when you play again, but since you didn’t fix the incorrect technique that was causing the pain, it will come back, and the cycle begins again.

So if you want to fix your tennis elbow forever, don’t buy those gadgets and don’t go see a general physician.

Start working with a coach that will fix your technique.  Then go see a physical therapist that is an expert in working with tennis players. Show them a slow motion video of your technique or have your coach explain the problem to them. Then the PT can start strengthening the areas that support your ability to play tennis.

It might take a few weeks or more of patience and dedication, but you’ll fix your tennis elbow problem forever.
