Stop Complaining About International Players On Collegiate Teams
Whatever happened to the American confidence of “we’re the best at everything?” Unafraid of any competition. Willing to outwork any opponent.
What happened to the mentality that created a global dominance in sports?
We’re complaining about too many international players on collegiate teams? And to fix the issue, we want to find a way to limit how many international players can play?
This is a joke.
This is a weak mindset.
And it’s this mindset that is ruining this entitled generation, and will ruin the next. This participation trophy weak minded mentality that can’t take any criticism. And when someone challenges them, they quiver and back down.
College coaches have two jobs:
Make sure their players graduate.
Win so they can keep their job and feed their families.
That’s it. It’s not to hand out spots to Americans just because of where they were born. Those spots need to be earned.
Do you really think a coach is going to risk his family’s stability, one of their primary sources of income, just because someone didn’t want to rise up to the challenge of competing with an international player ?
Do you think Lebron James is afraid of international competition? Do you think Aaron Judge is afraid of Japanese and Dominican pitchers? Do you think Jack Eichel thinks Sidney Crosby shouldn’t be allowed to play in the NHL because he’s Canadian?
What do you think is going to happen when these kids enter the workforce? Are they going to ask for applications to be limited to Americans?
Come on everyone! You’re begging for American Men Grand Slam winners while complaining international players are taking your collegiate spots. How are you going to raise a champion with that mentality!?
These are probably the same people that are happy after their child loses a close match to a higher UTR opponent. They celebrate that their UTR is going up even though they lost.
We need to get back to our roots. The roots that made us known for being the hardest working people on the planet. The roots that taught us that if we wanted something, we went to work for it. And if we worked for it, we could accomplish whatever we wanted. The American Dream.
Stop complaining. Accept the challenge. Develop a champion’s mentality. And stop asking for handouts. College tennis doesn’t owe you anything.
